What is Shipper of Choice?
The term “shipper of choice” is used throughout the industry, but what does it take to be a good shipper? Driver friendliness, flexibility, accommodations, efficiency, and low detention times all come to mind.
The 2023 Shipper of Choice Award, in partnership with TriumphPay, recognizes the manufacturers, distributors and retailers who do the best job of keeping the American economy moving by fighting driver detention, providing accessible facilities, and understanding what it takes to remove inefficiencies from the supply chain.
Our goal is to recognize and honor the companies that rise to the level of a true Shipper of Choice as voted on by the industry itself.

Nominations
Who can be nominated?
- Anyone in the industry can nominate a shipper for this award, and there are no restrictions on the number of nominations a shipper may receive.
- Nominees must be a shipper—a company that ships goods or makes shipments of goods by sea, land or air—to qualify.
- Nominations for the Shipper of Choice award will be accepted until May 4, 2023. The award winners will be unveiled this June at the Future of Supply Chain event.
Judging
How are the winners picked?
- The FreightWaves Research team, which is made up of industry-leading experts in logistics, along with an independent panel of judges, will determine the top 25 Shippers of Choice.
